Finding the Best Skin Care For Wrinkles

Skin care is a subject that gets closer to your heart the older you get. As you age your interest in finding the latest new wrinkle cream increases, and you start to read more avidly about skin care for wrinkles.

However it might surprise you to know that the best skin care for wrinkle prevention isn't finding the best new wrinkle cream on the market. The best way to prevent wrinkles has nothing to do with anti wrinkle creams.

Our skin health, and progress of our skin towards wrinkles and sagging, is more about our lifestyle and overall health. Skin health follows overall health, and it is very difficult to achieve great looking, young looking glowing skin if we are generally unhealthy. Better health translates to better looking, and healthier skin. Regardless of whether we search out the latest new wrinkle cream or not.

And of course there are other factors as well. Obviously our age is a huge factor in the look and health of our skin, and there is nothing we can do about that. A 20 year old is just more likely to have great skin than a 60 year old. That's just a fact of life.

But whilst we cannot do anything about our age, there is lots we can do for our health and at the same time achieving the best skin care for wrinkles and wrinkle prevention. It's really very simple. Notice I said simple, not easy.

First thing we need to do is to minimize our lifestyle factors. Lifestyle factors are a huge contributor to our overall health, and to our skin health. One of the worst things you can do to your skin, and to your body, is to smoke.

It is well recognised that smoking has an extremely negative impact on our skin. People who smoke have older looking skin when they are younger. Wrinkles develop earlier and are more pronounced. If you smoke, and you want your skin to look better, stop smoking right now. And your body will thank you for it in so many other ways other than in your skin health.

Next comes exercise. If you don't exercise then you need to. A good exercise routine heavily impacts your overall health, and your skin health. More and more research is showing the major benefits of exercise on so many aspects of our health. You must develop a good exercise routine, not just for your skin health but for your overall health. And as I said, the two go together.

Finally comes your diet. A change in your diet can be the best skin care for wrinkles that you can do. Not only will a good diet improve your skin health and the look of your skin, but it will also impact your overall health. And at the risk of repetition, skin health follows our overall health.

Our diets rich in pizzas, burgers and processed foods is not good for our skin, and not good for our health generally. We need a diet rich in natural vitamins, minerals, anti oxidants and essential oils and you won't find too many of these in pizzas, burgers or processed foods.

Eat less of these and eat more vegetables and fruits.

And finally, take high quality supplements to supplement those vitamins, minerals, anti oxidants and essential oils that you still aren't getting, even through a good diet. Because it's practically impossible to eat well enough to supply our bodies with all the vitamins, minerals, anti oxidants and essential oils that we need for optimum health and overall skin health. The best supplements, (note I said the best supplements, most aren't very good), will provide you with a complete supply of what your body needs in the right combinations.

Follow these simple steps and you'll be pursuing the best skin care for wrinkles there is. By all means add to this the use of great quality organic skin care products and you've got all bases covered. Do all this and your skin will be so much healthier, and look so much better, than it ever could using that new wrinkle cream that came out last month that promises so much, (but delivers so little).

Remember, I said it's simple, not easy. But do this and your whole life, not just your skin, will change for the better.

Anti-Aging Beauty: What's More Important? Food or Cosmetics?

In this month's Links section of the Put Old on Hold Newsletter, you will see a press release "Women sacrifice food before cosmetics." It claims that according to surveys, "Women are not only reluctant to reduce their spending on cosmetics but when their purses come under pressure they are more willing to scrimp and save on food." Wow!

It's baffling that many women seem not to understand that what they eat and drink (or do not eat and drink) every day over a long period of time eventually shows on the appearance of the face and body. If your body were a book it could be said that you can tell what’s inside the book by its' cover.

Women will often spend a ton of money on external moisturizers but drink little or any water. I recall one woman who said she never drinks water -- hasn't done so in years -- she drinks diet Coke exclusively. She's very overweight and doesn't understand the connection between the diet cola consumption and the weight gain. There is ample research that indicates artificial sweeteners are linked to weight gain.

The cosmetics industry is huge and its advertising is massive. Marketing gurus have it down to a science. They know how to make us buy what we don't need or even want. And we buy, buy, buy, not because we are stupid, but because we are human and subject to psychological manipulation. Nevertheless, we do have the ability to make choices. We can say "no" and we can look for less expensive cosmetic alternatives -- they are out there.

We all have our favorite cosmetic products but the truth is that you can buy a lot of "beauty" for a lot less. If you are paying big bucks for a department store or boutique moisturizer, you can find something at the drug store that will do what you want it to do (or perhaps even better) for a lot less. Or even find something in your kitchen. Recently, when I put out a SOS for a subscriber who wanted help finding a good neck cream, more than one of you recommended olive oil!

A great way to improve the appearance of your skin is with fresh juices. Invest in a juicer. (You may still be able to buy a Jack LaLanne juicer for $99 and it works great.) Buy a big bag or carrots and a couple of bunches of celery and juice them. Your body will know immediately that you have done something wonderful for it, and if you drink fresh juice often enough, it will do more for your skin than any expensive cosmetic.

It's also important to take anti-agiing supplements. In Dr. Nicholas Perricone’s book, The Perricone Prescription, there are several pages of before and after pictures that show the effect of his three-day nutritional face lift and his 28-day wrinkle free program. Some of the "after" photos are remarkable. If nothing else, all the women look younger. The photos are testimony to the fact that what you put into your body matters.

Save money by not buying "phony phood" products -- chips, dips, so-called breakfast cereals that may contain more sugar than nutrition. If it wasn't food 100 years ago, it's not real food. Spend your food money on live food that will help make you look and feel better. You may just have enough left over to splurge on the expensive cosmetics you think you can't live without.

Tips on How to Plan a Stress-free Beach Wedding

eddings are a significant occasion in one’s life. Couples invest a lot of time and money to make it an extraordinary and memorable event. Usually, brides and grooms get married in formal venues like churches and reception halls but nowadays they are trying out something new like planning it on beaches or resorts.

Getting married on a beach at sunset or sunrise will surely be a spectacular event. Unlike the usual traditional wedding, this will be a more casual way of getting hitched. This sounds like an exciting and fun idea but keep in mind that this type of wedding can also pose a lot of problems. Here are a few tips to ensure your beach wedding will run smoothly as possible.

• The most important factor to consider when planning a beach wedding is the weather. Do not just simply rely on nature to go your way. Be sure to have an alternative or back up plan in the possibility of rain and other weather conditions. Inform the set up to your guests so they will have an idea in case of bad weather.

• In picking a location, do some research first to be able to apply for the necessary permits if you are setting up to have a big celebration.

• After obtaining the consent, also ask for information on specific rules on the beach so you can plan your wedding preparations accordingly. You can also inquire if you can light up candles on the beach.

• The wedding videography will be a lot less formal than the traditional wedding. To make sure that everything you expect to see in your wedding video will be captured, provide the videographer with a checklist of important shots.

• It is usually a bit breezy on the beach so it is much better to pick a location near a cove to avoid strong winds. It is advisable to use decorations that may not likely be blown away by the wind.

• Remember to check the tide tables on your wedding day so you will not be surprised by high tides.

• Have an area that is out of the sun if you are planning to have your wedding during the day. These will prevent heatstroke especially for the elderly and children.

• Do not stage your wedding in midday if the beach is a public location. You certainly would not want to see unfamiliar faces in your wedding photographs later on. Early morning or near sunset is the ideal time to hold the ceremony.

• Select music that will work well with the sound of the environment. Also consider arranging a good sound system to create sweet musical notes.

• Do not forget to put flooring under the chairs and tables of the guests. It may sink in the sand as they sit down and eat supper. Flooring comes in a variety of materials from parquet to carpeted which can be very affordable.

• Use microphones during the ceremony so you will be heard by all of your guests. Although a beach is often a quiet place, you may possibly contend with the sound of seagulls, children playing and the sound of the surf as you recite your vows.

Like a typical wedding, a lot of work and time is involved in planning a beach wedding like looking for a wedding photography studio or ordering your gown. To make it easier you should consider having a ceremony that includes only a few friends and family and moving the whole entourage in an indoor reception after. There also a lot of creative ideas you can add to the reception location to create a romantic beach atmosphere without actually holding the wedding on the beach. Either way, a beach themed wedding can be dreamy and unforgettable for you and your guests. By planning ahead and preparing for possible problems, you can have a beautiful wedding.
